WE LOVE THE WORLD
There is a Turkish children song called ‘’Leave us a World’’.I want to share its verses.
‘’Children come play in each other.
Children , come hand in hand.
Leave us (we kids) a country
Which is not wet with tears.
Leave us a garden ( we kids)
Which the sky is full of kites
Leave us peace
That our song can reach the sun and the moon.
Leave us a world (we kids)
Let us write ‘’Dear World’’ on it.
Come children hand in hand
Come and play with joy.’’
According to me the children will make the world beautiful and make it a better place. That will be possible by learning new cultures and nations and by internalizing all differences with love ,respect and tolarence.
As we know ,the world became a global village because of the internet age at 21th century. But it is not enough getting the world global and smaller alone,to be able to come our expectations from children true.the most important task belongs to us,adults.
Even the project ‘ A Universal Story’ is a small step it provides an aim for us.
A group of students from different cultures came together who couldn’t do that in normal conditions. They got new friends who didn’t know correct pronunciation of their names even their genders. They made the distances nearer. They met and they sent letters with each other. They shared their favourite teams, singers and songs. While teaching their own cultures they learned different cultures too. Each culture has its own heroes. We knew some of them before. We heard some of them for the first time. Some of them were strange, some of them were like one of us.But we never saw them together.
There is the question for us.What happened with ‘ A Universal Story’?
At first many children from several countries came together, After then they brought these heroes together.I wish one day children will bring all humanity together in peace and serenity.
I feel honored and I’m proud of being a part of this project.I would like to thank all the students and teachers who participate this project.I am grateful and thankful to you all.
I hope that we get lifelong friendships.
I love you,all.

UNIVERSAL STORY
We were all happy to be in this Project because we had a good experience.
First we introdeced our schools, towns and our story characters. Our students were highly interested in meeting characters from different countries. Our students prepared character corners; drew pictures and wrote small articles. Then they experienced online meetings which made them very excited. Finally we started our own stories and exchanged it with our partners. It was a great feeling to take the characters into new adventures.
My students had fun and learnt a lot. They developed their communication , writing and drwing skills. They cooperated with their friends. This Project contributed their imagination in many aspects.
It also helped me with my language lesson since it is in English.
Yet all members worked in accordance with the Schedule and they were understanding.
At the end we will have our own story books, I am sure every student in this Project will feel proud tohave their boks in their hands.

A short letter about project
As Turkish team, we are really delighted to be a part of this project. My students were very excited during the writing process. They loved every addition done by other project partners and enjoyed a lot while reading.
We'd like to thank to Koray teacher and the project team for their enormous effort to keep us connected and for their kindness during this journey.
I hope these books would take every reader somewhere beyond their imagination as they did with us all.
Kindest regards and biggest thanks.

OUR OPINION Hi there! When we started this Project we were a little scared, because it was our first one, and we grabbed it with a mixture of fear and joy, because we also thought it was very interesting. Due to our geographical location and the characteristics of this area, we had no trouble in choosing characters belonging to our oral tradition and sharing them to our partners. The same we did our story. Then we waited for the other stories to complete with much excitement, and did our best to make a good story out of it. Learnt about the characters, and about the places that were described, and about other cultural aspects we may need to give coherence to the story; and all of these aspects gave this project another dimension: the one that let us meet our partners, their places, some of their traditions and about their culture; and, of course, about their stories! And now, all of a sudden it is over! We are sad, very sad that it is finishing. We liked sharing stories, being in contact and working on the stories. It has been our pleasure to work on this project. Now, we are going to miss it! And we are going to miss you! We are waiting for finding you next year in another eTwinning project!! Our project experience
Taking part in the eTwinning project called Universal Story was a great adventure for us. First, we learnt a lot of interesting stories from partner countries and then decided which Polish legend would be worthy to add. It was so fun to create the adventures of the stories we received during the exchange wheel. The best for us were meetings in the computer studies room. Throughout the activities we were doing, we learnt each other better as a group and got to know students and their schools from different countries. We were browsing the Internet for the information we needed in order to write our stories and also for getting to know our project friends. The funny and pleasant part for us was drawing pictures of some main characters we chose for our stories. The best thing in this project was the chance of using our creativity and producing a very new story with heroes we used to know from our childhood.
Thank you for having the possibility to take part in this project.

A short letter
From the very beginning we found the idea of the project very appealing!
Stories are always magical! They bring people together, they teach us about life, about kindness and bravery...
We loved to learn more about characters from universal tales and then lead them into new adventures…
We enjoyed every step of the project, from discovering our partners and entering their universe, to reading new stories and becoming acquainted with Turkish, Bulgarian, Italian, Slovakian, Polish, Spanish characters, and then to actually writing our tales together!...
So many ideas had to be combined into a single story that we sent to our new friends. A story that enriched with every new country it visited! The moment we received our story back was very emotional… we read it with a lot of excitement and we couldn’t believe that we had all turned into real story-writers!
We are looking forward to reading all the tales that were written by our partners. We left our mark on some of the stories and we’d like to see how the adventures developed. But we are also very interested to discover all the new ones.
Thank you so much for so many beautiful memories! This is our first project and we were so lucky to find creative and serious partners and such a great coordination team! Your ideas inspired and encouraged us!
And now we give wings to our stories and let them fly into the world!

Dear friends,
Thank you so much for this great project, working with you has been a pleasure and an honor . My students had fun studying different cultures and nations.
Inventing stories and collaborating with boys and girls from different countries in English was interesting and the students learned a lot, expanding their linguistic and digital knowledge.
Receiving letters from their new friends and answering in English was fantastic, It was exciting to read the kids' presentations and answer their letters by telling them a little bit about us. We have read unknown fairy tales and discovered some very interesting characters, we have drawn and used them to create a new…Universal Story.
Thanks to all teachers who dedicated their time to this project, demonstrating excellent skills.
Waiting for a new etwinning project,
I send you my best regards.

Dear friends,
The passing 2018/2019 scholar year was full of many difficulties and many happy events. One of the most exciting moments were those we spent on working on your project. It was fun to get to know so many different stories, so many interesting characters, to meet so many new friends. Yes, we might be in different countries and sometimes our history place us into the opposite corners. But we all share our love to the students and the ambition to make them good people – people who are tolerant, who love and understand each other! And we think we did it by creating and sharing our stories!
We wish you all a good summer holiday and many new adventures in future!

About The Universal Story
A group of talented students from the 5th grade took part in an eTwinning project called Universal Story.
We had various reasons to participate in the project. Our aim was to develop the students‘ creative writing skills, to awake their imagination and improve their reading and communication skills both in mother tongue and English. Since the topics of the project were our national tales and characters, the 5th graders were our target group. They learn about tales and stories on their literature classes all year round. The project tasks were integrated to our syllabus. The project team had a Universal Story lesson every second week. First we chose our national hero, then we introduced it to our project twin schools. We met their national characters as well. On the following lessons we started to write our Universal Story with our chosen main character, Knight Fulko. Our story was extended with the twin schools chosen national characters. On the top of the plot we always stopped writing and we exchanged our stories with our twin schools. There were totally 2 exchanges and finally we got back our story to finish it.
In all story writing, students were working as a team, they discusses how to arrange the plot, which national characters to choose. Our students had to do the tasks in their mother tongue, because they are all beginners in learning English. Later a senior student joined the lessons and helped the 5th graders to translate the stories into English. The teachers had a supervisor role in the project.
Students enjoyed the project topic because it was appropriate to their age group. They liked working as a team (discussion method) and they accepted and appreciated the senior student as their group leader. They learnt many new expressions, how to arrange a text, how to write dialogues etc. They tried more writing techniques.
We are satisfied with the project. We got a lot of new information about the project partners. This project was colourful and really international and multicultural. We learnt many new things about other cultures. We are glad to be part of the Universal Story eTwinning project.
